The latest Babolat Aero range has arrived!
One of Babolat's most coveted racquets has just become even better and is in store now! The Pure Aero range replaces the ever-popular Aero Pro series and includes a number of new improvements that make it the ultimate spin machine.
There are three versions in new Babolat Aero range available in store currently:
Pure Aero - 300g, 32 balance, 100sqin
Pure Aero Team - 285g, 32 balance, 100sqin
Pure Aero Lite - 270g, 33 balance, 100sqin
The Pure Aero Tour and Pure Aero + will be released towards at the end of this year.
Redesigned cross-section
Unlike the last update to the Aero range, the Pure Aeros are very different from the racquets they replace. The cross section has been redesigned to improve aerodynamics. This reduces drag and allows the racquet to swing faster through the air. The redesigned cross section still features Babolat's patented Cortex system, but it is now wholly contained inside the shaft and is no longer visible.
New string pattern
The 16 x 19 string pattern remains, however, the crosses are more spread out than on the Aero Pro range creating a more open string pattern and less resistance to main string movement. The racquets previously shared the same string pattern as the Pure Drive range. The updates mean there is now a greater difference between the two models.
Enhanced grommet system
The main string grommets are now oblong rather than round. This allows for more side to side main string movement and increased spin. An asymmetric grommet strip also helps improve aerodynamics, but prospective stringers should be wary of the designated starting side to ensure the strings sit correctly in the grommet strip.
